Subject: Mobo finished 2nd but was DQ due to the fact he lost his rider shortly after the gate.
Date: 3/3/07 (3rd thoroughbred race of the day)

This shot shows that race horses want to run. Even without a rider to urge them on... most will still try to win... they are competitive little buggers!

Love the shot Ian, I like how the board is centered with the riderless horse. Hope you didn't place any money on that one... ;)

They usually catch the horse before the stretch (or try to) because they usually want to go back to the stable and ease up around the far turn... however, there are times when they just keep going and going.

you're right about the horses wanting to run; it's in their blood, they're naturally competitive. PETA should see this, hopefully it would shut them up.
